New WY PA Rules for 2022
Posted almost 3 years ago
Happy New Year!
With the start of 2022, the amendments to the Wyoming Medical Practice act legislation went into effect on January 1, 2022. SF 033 passed the 2021 legislature and a number of provisions were changed, including the ability of qualified PAs to practice without physician supervision. As part of that legislation, there are some new requirements for physician assistant identification. We are required to wear a name badge that includes our picture, name, identifying that we are a physician assistant, and our WY license number.
We also need to have a copy of our WY PA license visible to our patients somewhere in our practice settings. It is important for us all to be in compliance with the new changes to the statute and make sure we are clearly identified as PAs. If you have any questions about the new changes to the law, feel free to contact any WAPA board member.
